Demilune Commodes

Here is an identical pair of Demilune Commodes, which represent an interpretation of several antique commodes studied by the artisan.  The stunning tops are alternating wedges of walnut and avodire crotch veneers.  The inspiration for the center-piece was gained during a visit to the Peabody Essex Museum, in Salem Massachusetts.  The commode was constructed with solid walnut, and the drawers and doors are birdseye maple.  Please click here for detailed pictures of construction methods.
